great stair On the east side of the central plaza a stair of very high steps climbs up the plazuela platform that supports the Five Story Pyramid. Its roofcomb appears above the rear wall of a building that blocks off most of the stair. A narrow opening, at top right, leads from the stair into a courtyard at the foot of the pyramid. The stair gave access to the pyramid/plazuela complex, but also may have served as a setting for events taking place in the plaza, or for activies requiring high steps.
